Oh well, Good Intentions. I really wanted to keep the blog up weekly. There is Good News to report though:
In the past two months we began a Good News Club at Sissonville Elementary. It was amazing. It was like the "poster child" of After school Good News Clubs! In 6 weeks, we grew from 36 to over 60 children. More importantly than that though was the 17 children who prayed with counselors to receive the Lord Jesus as Savior. God is so GOOD! Children also grew in the Lord. They were responding to the teaching in visible ways: one un-churched child would go to her Grandmothers after club, post the memory verse on the refrigerator and while she was working on memorizing it, she would also get after her brother to also memorize it; one mother was so impressed by her child's involvement and interest that she is considering taking her family to church; one child began to read her Bible every day.
God has been working on hearts and minds -- two churches recently expressed that they would "adopt" their local elementary school. A third and fourth church adoption is in the works. Please pray -- Pray Hard because the enemy is also fighting. Pray that we would continue to be faithful to do what God is leading to do. There are both large and small decisions to be made. It is so important that we (I and the other CEF staff) are held up in prayer. Thank you!
